Typically when one thinks about motion controllers, various sports games come to mind: golf, archery, boxing, swordplay, or maybe driving; but strategy? That’s where Under Siege plans to shake things up a bit. Under Siege, exclusively available on the PSN store, will integrate the new technology from Playstation Move.

Portugal based development Seed Studios specifies the control scheme was specifically designed for the Dual Shock/Sixaxis controller. So, initially you might think that you would be severely limited by the motion controls. After all, RTS games have only recently achieved success on consoles. While there is not much news yet on specifically how the Move controller is integrated from the tutorial video (above) posted at the Playstation.Blog it seems that they have made intuitive use of motions like twisting to provide orientation instructions to the units on screen. Clearly, Seed Studios has put some thought into its use.

It’s worth pointing out the game’s unique visual style with some of their posted artwork.

The game itself includes a single player campaign, 2 player splitscreen (yes!), 4 player multiplayer with video and voice chat in-game and in the lobby, screenshot support, custom music support, and video recording. Maybe the best part is that you can create and share your own maps. The map editor you will get with the game is the same one they use when designing their official maps.

That’s interesting. Curious to see more about how well it works, seems like it would be pretty difficult.
