To put it simply, Disney has a history of building awesome stuff, and they’re planning on building some more awesome stuff. I’m talking about the soon-to-be-built ElecTRONica, which was revealed on the Disney Parks blog. Its being hailed as “the” place to dance, so if that doesn’t get you excited I don’t know what will. Not only will there be a dance floor, but the main attraction is Flynn’s Arcade. That’s right, Flynn’s Arcade. ElecTRONica opens October 8th, so be sure to check it out.

20 new screenshots from Rocksteady Studios project Batman: Arkham City display many new features to those who enjoyed Batman: Arkham Asylum. One main addition is the, shall I say, “good-looking” Catwoman, as well as the coin flipping Harvey Dent as Two-Face. Alongside all the new additions, many of the great features from Arkham Asylum return. Some of these include Detective Vision, the fantastic combat engine, and also the return of Harley Quinn.

Although the release date is unconfirmed as of now, rumors say it is to be released in the Fall of 2011. To view the 20 pictures, check them out over at Kotaku.

Little Big Planet 2

Turns out the rumors were right…

The knitting man show in our previous post about a mysterious advertising campaign launched on the Japanese PlayStation site? He’s there to announce LittleBigPlanet 2 for Japan. Hidden images of Sackboy and a LittleBigPlanet 2 logo in Japanese are embedded in the flash file. The image shown above was found after a flash decompiling was done of the site.

The image, written in Japanese, translates to “Little Big Planet 2.” As a reader previously mentioned to us, the man appears to be knitting a Sackboy. So, I guess it all makes sense. Oh, well. The mystery was fun while it lasted.

Very little is known at the moment, but it appears PlayStation Japan has put up a countdown timer for a currently unknown game. The site url features the Japanese word “amimono,” which translates to “knitting” in English. This seems fitting, considering the only image on the page is of a capped man fiddling with a ball of yarn.

The countdown is set to expire in four days, so stay tuned to GamingViral.com for all the latest updates on this intriguing situation.

Fallout: New Vegas

News out of an unlikely source today, it appears that there will be a reference to the player doing the unthinkable in the much acclaimed Obsidian fall release, Fallout: New Vegas. GameInformer reported yesterday in an article that the protagonist (referred to in the well received Fallout 3 as The Lone Wanderer) in the much awaited New Vegas will engage in questionable acts with no other than a friendly, neighborhood robot. Yes, you can consider this an official part of the game as the news comes straight from the ESRB, and you can put faith into not having to unlock hidden portions of the game’s source to “enjoy” this feature.

Interestingly (and to probably maintain a rating which will allow New Vegas to be sold in store chains) there will be no physical, on-screen depiction of the act which presumably includes the player and a robot named “Fisto”. However, there will be an obvious suggestion at the act, going so far as to request that the player “assume the position.” What this command means when talking of sex in relation to machinery will hopefully be determined at a later time. More after the jump.

Kotaku reader Sean discovered an imposing obelisk in his hometown of Toronto, an obelisk serving as a respectably original advertisement for Halo Reach and an image vaguely reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

While terrifying to those outside the target audience, the UNSC-branded Reach monolith does little more than blink a horrific red light at passersby and listing various Reach-and-Bungie-related URL’s.  Regardless, a pretty awesome addition to Reach’s advertisement campaign.  Awesome, and frightening. Check out the picture after the jump.

[UPDATE]: Apparently, according to Staff Reporter Alex, this could be related to an Xbox event in which fans will “battle Covenant troupes live using state-of-the-art weapons technology and be one of the first Canadians to get a sneak peak of Halo Reach” in Toronto and Vancouver. For more information, times and addresses for the event, see the page at Xbox.com, or follow @UNSC_INTEL on Twitter for even more events and information.

Darkspore, the gloomier sequel to Maxis’ 2008 Spore, seems to have gotten its own alternate reality game. HelpEDNA.com surfaced on the web recently and is helping unearth the universe of Darkspore. Slated for a 2011 release, Darkspore is dubbed “a fast-paced, sci-fi Action-RPG in which you battle across alien worlds” and is loosley based on Spore, the previous title in the series.

Help EDNA appears to center around Earth’s first contact with a mysterious alien race that is seeking help against the Darkspore and Exponential DNA, a substance used by the Darkspore to devastate the galaxy. The whole adventure of Help EDNA is traversed through a text-based interface controlled by an artificial intelligence. Players must guess at commands in order to unravel the mystery behind this tantalizing bit of the Darkspore universe.

The site is frequently changing and initially helped figure out the time and location of Maxis’ Comic-Con panel. Other puzzles have included figuring out the chemical compositions of adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine (the bases of DNA). One puzzle even required analyzing 12,000 digits of pi in order to unmask a message detailing how all these puzzles have simply been a test of intelligence.

Does that mean the real information is yet to come?

Bungie is not new ARG’s for the Halo series. Both Halo 3 and ODST had interactive games, but this new ARG takes us to a whole new level. Find out how you, your facebook, and a robot arm will make a “Light Sculpture” after the jump.
